Palatants & Flavors
for Swine Feed

Pigs have a far more refined palate than most farmers expect — they will happily root through mud for something aromatic, then walk away from a nutritionally perfect ration that smells like nothing.

Our swine palatants close that gap. Better intake, faster transitions, less feed left in the trough.

Where Swine Feed Wins or Loses

Three moments in a pig's life where aroma decides whether the feed gets eaten or left behind.

01

Weaning Transition

Piglets moving off sow's milk face an unfamiliar dry ration at the exact moment stress is highest. A milk or cream note bridges the gap, so intake never stalls.

02

Masking Raw Materials

Fishmeal, high-inclusion soy, minerals, and medications all carry off-notes pigs actively reject. The right palatant covers them without dominating the ration.

03

Finishing Intake

In the fattening phase, every gram of refused feed is lost daily gain. Sweet and fruit profiles keep consumption steady right through to market weight.

Have Questions? We Answer Them

Piglets recognise and trust familiar aromas. Including a milk, cream, or vanilla note in creep and starter feed means the smell stays constant even as the physical feed changes completely — so the piglet starts eating sooner and loses less condition through the transition.

Rejection usually traces back to a specific off-note — a mineral premix, a medication, or a fat that has started to oxidise. Rather than raising palatant inclusion across the board, it is more effective to identify the offending component and select a flavor profile that specifically masks it.

Sweet and fruit profiles are the most reliable for finishing rations. Because intake is already high at this stage, the goal is consistency rather than stimulation — keeping day-to-day consumption stable so daily gain does not fluctuate with feed batches.

Across trials, dairy and sweet profiles consistently rank highest, followed by fruit. That said, preference shifts with age, existing ration composition, and regional raw materials — which is why we recommend testing two or three candidates in your own feed rather than assuming a universal answer.

It depends on the format and the base ration, so we supply a recommended starting range with every sample and adjust from there based on your results. Contact our specialists with your formulation and we will suggest a starting point.
